The Morgan County Extension office provides assistance and programs for citizens in five main areas: Agriculture, Family and Consumer Science, Horticulture, Livestock and 4-H Youth Development Programs.

Agronomy & Cropping Systems
Morgan County Extension Agronomy provides research-based information on crops and cropping systems, range and forages, full and limited irrigation, weed management, soil management, nutrient management, and water quality.

Ag Agent’s Program Emphases:

  • Wheat-based rotational dryland cropping systems
  • No-till and reduced till for increasing precipitation capture and retention
  • Precision/site-specific farming
  • Limited irrigation cropping
  • Alfalfa and grass hay production and marketing
  • Irrigated pastures for grazing livestock
  • Native plant identification
    • Livestock poisoning troubleshooting
  • Crop injury troubleshooting
  • Integrated/Biointensive Pest Management (insect, disease, weed, vertebrates)
    • County wide Weed Management program
